    STANDARD JOB DESCRIPTION

    PROGRAM STAFF


    Position Title: Program Facilitator

    Employed by:Executive Director

    FLSA: Non-Exempt


    Purpose: Plans, facilitate and assist in the evaluation of the programs of Girls Incorporated.


    PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES


    • In collaboration with program staff, plan and implement health and wellness activities that will help achieve the goals and objectives of the program.

    • Deliver the Girls Incorporated programs as planned daily by providing direction, instruction, and motivation to girls.

    • Help to inspire the girls to be strong, smart, and bold in all activities.

    • Provide for the safety and appropriate behavior of participants in activities by reporting safety concerns immediately to the center manager, assisting girls in problem solving and conflict resolution and acting as a role model for appropriate behavior.

    • Ensure that all equipment and supplies used for each program are put away when that program is finished.

    • Maintain required attendance records, lesson plans, and other reports as requested by the supervisor.

    • Responsible for preparing facilities for each activity, to include organizing supplies, organizing equipment and informing supervisor of needed equipment or supplies.

    • Communicate with supervisor on a frequent basis about the girls’ response to, and interest in, program. Communicate with supervisor about girls’ needs.

    • Keep supervisor informed of needs, problems, and unusual situations with activities and participants.

    • Assume other responsibilities as directed by supervisor.

    • Participate in periodic assessment of own performance.


    QUALIFICATIONS


    • Minimum of 8 weeks of working with children in a group setting.

    • High school diploma or equivalent required.

    • Group work skills.

    • An advocate for gender, age, racial and ethnic equity.


    KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, and ABILITIES


    • Knowledge of needs of girls ages 6 – 18.

    • Ability to work with a diverse population.

    • Ability to motivate and inspire girls.

    • Ability to learn Girls Incorporated values, mission, and vision.

    • Ability to implement the Girls Incorporated values, mission, and vision in all programming.

    • Ability to travel to other Girls Incorporated program sites in the community.
